If you’re looking for a unique view of the Los Angeles skyline, head to City Hall.
There is an Observation Deck on the 27th floor that lets you admire the city from every angle. On a clear day, you can see the Hollywood Sign, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Griffith Observatory, Chinatown and more.
The best part? It’s free to go and the building is beautiful.
The most difficult and costly thing about your visit will be parking. I went on a Wednesday and parked in an all-day lot near Grand Central Market for $6. It’s about a 10 minute walk from there.
Also, it’s not open on weekends.
If you go:
The public entrance is on the Main Street side of the building.
You’ll pass through a metal detector and will need to show a valid ID.
After checking in, take the elevator up to the 22nd floor. Then take another elevator to the 26th floor. Finally, take the stairs to the 27th and enjoy 360 degree views of Los Angeles.
Public hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
