This Los Angeles high school has been in every movie ever made

John Marshall High School in Los Feliz is perhaps the most recognized high school in America.

With its gorgeous architecture, it’s been the go-to spot for movies and TV shows in need of an educational setting—including the carnival scene at the end of Grease, Boy Meets World and even Van Halen’s Hot for Teacher  video.

It was used for exterior shots in A Nightmare on Elm Street.

It was also Andie’s “Meadowbrook High School” in Pretty In Pink.

It’s where Dr. Evil and Scott go to group therapy to talk about their feelings in Austin Powers.

Fun fact: Leonardo DiCaprio briefly attended school here before earning his GED and landing a reoccuring role on Growing Pains, which ironically also filmed at John Marshall High.

If you’re in the area, it’s worth a drive-by. Someone who is definitely Not a Stalker has a great list of other TV shows and movies filmed here.

The school is located at 3939 Tracey Avenue in Los Feliz.
